My travel

Bula! Or should I say welcome to Fiji! White-sand beaches, rich marine life, crystal clear waters…, for many these islands represent their dream vacation. Staying there during almost 3 weeks made me realize it was so much more, I discovered a wild country full of resources, a unique culture and benevolent spirits. I tried to shoot few of these really special moments to share with you a bit of this paradise on earth

Ready for another way to see? Let’s fly to Fiji ‘s islands.

Sandy Ocean

I started the trip with the visit of the Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park which is one of the smallest national parks in the world. I started walking in the bushes and the nature was everywhere. At some point, I came across a great sand dune just like that. I climbed it up and then I knew, my playground was just stunning and right here, under my feet. I called this collection sandy ocean.

Beautiful contrasts

All along my trip I had the occasion to watch and swim in those sapphire waters and dazzling reefs. The sparkling green of nature, the immaculate white of the sand and the outrageous sky bring out the colour of the water looking like painted skies. This series will be called beautiful contrasts.

Mysterious Species

One of the things I love the most while discovering a new country is the presence of animals, the very essence of a living and unknown nature. These islands have an incredible aquatic life and host reptiles, birds, insects and more. A fun fact to reveal is that Fiji has no native land mammals except for bats. Weird or mysterious species, today we can see and any of the most common like extravagant animals.

Wild Beauty

On my journey, I went to visit Taveuni called the garden island. It’s unlike anything I’ve seen, with gorgeous tropical rainforests covering 80% of the island. There I found spectacular waterfalls that cascade and carve their way through the lush jungle interior, creating blissfully cool swimming holes. It was just majestic, wild, and beautiful. It can only be called wild beauty.

Rays of happiness

Although simple and easy to see, sunsets are one of the most spectacular phenomena of light and nature. That’s why I will always take time to put down my tripod and wait a few moments to capture these magical moments. And this time I’m on the other side of the world watching the landscapes, painting them in ochre, pink or mauve. « There are rays of happiness in sunrise and sunset » – Jean Gastaldi

Sparkling Depth

The infinite immensity of space, with its myriad stars, galaxies, and planets, fascinates me and inevitably draws my camera towards it. Fiji and especially the Yasawa & Mamanuca islands are marvellous spots of observation. As there is only one resort on each island, the area is free from light pollution. I, somehow, did manage to obtain an impression of depth, a sparkling depth.
